Burial of The Dead
With the arrival of the Romans, the local population completely abandoned the custom of skeleton burial of their dead in a contracted position. Burial customs were connected in two basic ways: skeleton (inhumation) and cremation (incineration) of the deceased. The Roman necropolis of Aenona stretched along the road towards Iader (Zadar), then Ninski Stanovi and Privlaka. Many graves located in Ždrijac and the salt pans have been excavated.
